Ida vs. her Commute

Ida--whose 9 month check-up revealed her to be in the 50th percentile for weight, 90th for height, 52nd for head circumference--spends many of her days with Chandler and Elsie at the Vining-Bradford residence. A heretofore undocumented activity is Ida's commute. It takes longer than one might think to get her ready to go:



Once she's rolling, she likes speed, flapping her arms and yelling in downhill sections.



The morning ride is mostly uphill, however, so Ida pipes along, talking to herself, as this old horse pumps away...



...achieving great speed...



...and finally arriving at the Vining-Bradford garage...very eager to be let out...



... and greeted by Elsie! (and Chandler, of course, but we'll spare her the exposure, today)

On the Road, again

This weekend we went down to Lincoln City so I, Pete, could talk about myself in front of a variety of literary fans at the library. We stayed at the majestic Inn at Spanish Head, and Ella has sworn she'll never sleep (or try to sleep) in the same room as Ida again. The point is that we didn't take many pictures, but here is one of Ida setting out in her big girl Roustabout chair:



An interesting comparison is this photo from our mid-May trip to the hot springs with the much-vaunted Hugh Hochman. That was Ida's first weekend car trip; what a difference seven months makes!

Ida=not the youngest Rock cousin anymore!
