Ida vs. Vining Grandparents in Holiday Central South Jersey

Grandpa Vining plays rough!

Fortunately, Grandma has this cool light. It doesn't pulsate, though, whatever she says.

Short films of her grandparents tormenting Ida with Baby:

Ida vs. More Snow? + a return to further diapering + bacon vs. whiskey

It's not exactly arctic, but the city's made of Ice. Yesterday I pulled Ida home on the sled; halfway back she fell asleep, doubled over at the waist; and then she slumped over sideways and her arm dragged along for a block or so, a mitten trailing by its string. Anyway, Elsie's learning to fake smile:

(this photo stolen from Arthur)

Snowed so much that the Vining/Bradfords skiied down for dinner! Check out that Chariot ski attachment on Long A, and also Maggie's form. That's what you call driveway skiing.

Frightful as the weather may be outside, there is a persistent need for diapering inside:

We're just holing up eating bacon and drinking whiskey, waiting to see what cool junk Santa brings us.

MORE DOCUMENTARY FOOTAGE VS. IDA

What is going on here?

Well, some folks have declared a desire for more documentary-style footage (while others have raised concerns that this may open us up to thieves and bandits, so I'm making some attempt to conceal our location and identities); the following film should provide some clarity:

A few words with the culprit:

Battle Royale: Jim! vs. Ida

Those on the inside may have been wondering, "Hey, Grambee don't travel solo. Where's Jim?" Well, in fact, Jim was indeed on the scene, entertaining Ida with his many strange voices...

...he even taught her to moo.

Did I mention strange voices?

Ida vs. Pilgrims

Why is Ida so happy?

Because Grambee's in town! Even Ichi is happy...

Thanksgiving!

It would not be the same without Professor Hugh Hochman:

Nor could it get so wild--

What a spread! Bradfords are tall...

Few things better than partying with Elsie and Uncle Arthur...

...even if Elsie is "teething."

Bonus: Grambee is quite impressed with how busy Ida is, and also how Ida stuck all these towels into her onesie, called it her "backpack," then ran up and down the hall to get diapers for her baby, teddy bear, and cow:

Ida Reads, etc.

To the relief of her servants worldwide, Ida has now begun to read on her own...

...and she continues to assist Baby with her toileting:

For those of you curious what Elsie is up to--we have no idea.

Ida at Tumbleweed sans Elsie, vs. Rachel, living it up

Arthur* took Elsie to Frisco for unknown reasons, so Ida got to spend some time solo with her friend Rachel at Tumbleweed today:

*Unfortunately, Arthur likes to swear a lot when trying to buckle Elsie into her carseat, and Ida picks this up. Her new favorite word is "dit! dit!"

Baby Need New Diaper

Welcome to the scene at our house. This baby so often needs a new diaper, and it's very surprising how often, coincidentally, Ida needs a new diaper at the same time.

Conversations with Ida Akiko Rock

So far, Ida's longest sentence is probably "Ida break Ichi bowl" or "Daddy drink hot coffee."

Here's a conversation we had this morning:

"Elsie car-seat!"
"No, this is your new carseat. You can sit in it."
"Sit in it."
"It's your carseat."
"Carseat."
"Buckle."
"Buckle."
"What are you, a parrot?"
"Parrot."

Ida vs. Daycare

Yes, Ida sure likes it at Tumbleweed (that's Brianna):

Elsie's there! ("Elsie, Move Back!" "No Bite, Elsie!")

A lot of time they make Ida wear this dunce cap, because she's the youngest:

Jack-o-lanterns, etc.

Arthur got two pumpkins ("Art-er Punpum!") and we had to get the guts out of them.

Some 20th percentile weight persons wanted to eat the seeds:

What did Baby Theo make of this?

Was there a ladybug in the house?

A bunny/munny?

Just one year ago:

Look how pretty Ida Mama is these days:

Bye bye.
