Massive Post About Rutunion 2010

Whoa! It's kind of overwhelming, even looking back at it. It was a major effort and a gigantic scheduling masterstroke--thank you, Maggie--and everyone survived. Let's see if I can capture some (more) highlights. Well, GrandmaToko did not cease in her constant working ways. Sweeping the wilderness, gathering helpers, she did not stop. A dervish.
These two fellows spent countless hours trying to figure out how to catch the fish in the little pond.

This is one of Arthur's ("Uncle Arsur's") ideas that didn't work. Eventually he invested in some fishing tackle and they caught the same catfish and crappies about four hundred times, suffering many sighs from fish-loving sister-in-laws/aunts everywhere.
But really it was all about seeing rarely seen cousins. Like Baby Hanako, whom we'd never seen before. Welcome!

Old pals, too!

Ida decided to get covered in mud (stay posted for further posts, post reader); she got washed off at the cold tap, and got quite cold,

and got all fleeced up. Grandpa thought that was pretty funny.

Oh, whoa!

'Nuff said. Heh, whoa, what else was going on, there? Water balloons! Excellent!

Sparklers! And 9" shooting fountains! Almost illegal!

And many wonderful meals (thanks, cooks!)...

Eaten with gusto and hearty conversation (see earlier video)...

We barely made it out of there! And then spent some quality time in the Kansas City airport! (Where Baby Matthew may now live.)

By the time we got to the Economy Parking bus in PDX, things were getting a little silly.

Both girls fell asleep on the drive home and wouldn't even wake up to eat or anything. They were out cold, like a pair of Bradfords. This trip really wore them out!

if by "live" you mean "reside at the bottom of a dumpster" then you are correct about my existence in KC. Help!
