No one denies that Ida is prettier than she is smart. She's getting smarter, though. As an aside, Ella recently read/said that Ida can remember about one minute's worth of memories. I guess this is the minute immediately preceding any "remembering" as opposed to a "greatest hits" compilation (by the way, yesterday while I was swimming the pink-haired lifeguard was playing a greatest hits album of
Styx. Yeah! Come Sail Away! Foolin' Yourself!) It made me wonder how it might be if we all could only remember one minute. The result might be something like Ida's father forgetting her ear-testing appointment last Thursday. (Stay tuned: is Ida deaf in her left ear?)
Anyway, Ida loves to read books. Like this book about babies:
Her other favorites are about endangered animals, monkeys, John Maynard Keynes,
and one called
Dogwalker, a hair-raising collection written by her Uncle Arthur the criminal.
Don't worry, she's a slightly faster reader than Arthur, but reading does tire her out...

Clarification: the book had a diagram of scrambled faces that was supposed to be viewed in that orientation, Mr Know-It-All.
It seemed to me that it was implied that she was reading "Dogwalker" in those photos. And what's the deal with scrambled faces? Don't babies have enough adjustments to deal without getting shown things in abnormal configurations?
In other news, it's good to see that Brasil's futbol team is still is residence and that spring in Oregon means hats are still worn indoors.
